Natural Dye Workshops for Children-Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced Levels

Children are our best students and we love working for and with them. Our youngest students are 4 years old and the oldest one is 15. We have a lot of options for children, we have listed a few below, but feel free to contact us for a custom session for your child.

Beginner Level: This starts with a simple extraction natural dye kit that helps children learn how to take our colors from a dry flower, make a mordant bath of alum salt and change the shade with iron salt on small pieces of organic cotton. All materials, instructions and the video tutorial is provided in the kit priced at just RS.250/-

Intermediate Level: This is a custom online workshop consisting of 5 sessions that begin with history, chemistry, and process of foraging sources of natural color, dye extraction, fixer baths, application of dyes using tie and dye, and curing. It helps children make dyes from sources in their garden, kitchen, or local markets and connect it with their chemistry, biology, and physics classes. Advanced Level: This is for a group of children or schools and is a longer curriculum consisting of deeper learning with the subject of natural dyes, dyeing, block printing, screen printing, painting, etc. It is again custom and can be organized according to the group’s time and needs.
